This is a clip from the CSJ's Annual Awards from this July. The charity gaining the Award was U Too Dads. U Too was started by two local Wiltshire mums who were becoming increasingly uncomfortable with the number of teenagers getting pregnant without practical and relationship based support. They started delivering a national accredited course but as it developed they recognised that the harder to reach young dads also needed support. So together with Mike White created a relationship based course specifically for the young dads-to-be supporting them through the process and encouraging them to engage with their children and support their family where appropriate. U Too Dads has engaged with more than 100 young dads-to-be, all of which were at the crucial anti-natal stage. Not only do they learn how to care for their children but young partners are helped to stay together and the majority of dads move in to employment, training or education.
